Sue Barker & Lance Tankard – 33 Years Together
Sue Barker won 15 WTA Tour titles at the height of her tennis career. After retiring, she settled in broadcasting and fronted BBC’s Wimbledon coverage. She formerly hosted “A Question of Sport” until September 2020, when she recorded the final episode of the BBC quiz show.
In 1988, she exchanged vows with Lance Tankard, who is a former policeman turned landscape gardener. They set eyes on each other while in Portugal, where she coached tennis while he was on holiday. Upon their return to England, a chance encounter led to dinner, and their romance bloomed. The couple resides in Stanton, Gloucestershire.
