Chilling Words
The vet looked up, his face unreadable. “Where did you find them?” he asked. Matthew repeated his story, irritation creeping into his voice. The vet studied him for a long moment before finally speaking.
“These are not dogs.” Matthew’s breath caught. His stomach dropped. What could the vet possibly mean?
