Jean Shrimpton – Born in 1942
The prototype for future generations of supermodels was formed by Jean “The Shrimp” Shrimpton, who was working decades before the Big Six and the Hadid family exploded from magazine pages worldwide. She was the ’60s It-Girl who personified the coveted Swinging London aesthetic and is often regarded as the first true supermodel. She’s also an English model and actress.

A model with striking features—including huge eyes, fringe bangs, a thin build, and long legs—she was called “The Face of the ’60s,” “Most Photographed In the World,” and more. She has lived a low-key life for the past half-century but still makes infrequent appearances in Cornwall.
